A tray of 4 old microscope slides all containing sections of human tissue. The upper label of each slide is printed with "PRIZE MEDAL - PARIS 1867" and is handwritten with the nature of the specimen. The lower label details the nature of the section etc. The slides also bear the small label printed in red with a bull's head through a garter bearing the legend COLE DEUM. The 4 slides contain the following specimens (from left to right in the image)
Larynx &c. of Human Embryo, 6 mos. in Utero - transverse section, stained.
Cervix Uteri of new born Child - transverse section, stained Carmine.
Hand of Human Embryo, 4 months in Utero - Verical section, double stained.
Human Spinal Cord - T.S.
All 4 slides are in very good condition with the coverslips whole. The sealing is chipped around item 3 (see image) , there is no sealant to item 4 but it has not dried out.
