Ref: 54208
This fantastic Victorian fairing was produced by one of the famous porcelain manufacturers, from Germany, during the19th Century. It is formed as a Victorian bedchamber, with a lady beating a gentleman with a slipper. It is hand painted in vibrant colours, to a white ground, and is further embellished with gilding and the wording 'Returning At One O'Clock In The Morning'. It is finished in high quality glaze.
Marks & Backstamps
The fairing is marked to the base with the 'Made In Germany' backstamp, and is guarateed to be a genuine, early and original piece.
Condition & Size
One of the gentleman's feet has been detached, and is missing, and there is a little gilt/glaze rubbing here and there, which is common in pieces of this vintage and does not detract. Otherwise, it is in very good condition, with no cracks or restoration. It measures approximately 3" in height and 3½" in width.
