 These maps are great for historical and genealogy research.  Find old roads, rail lines, steamboat routes, town names...even cemeteries and churches.  These maps were reconstructed digitally from 4 separate maps, alignment is not always perfect but in most cases you cannot tell where the maps were joined.  File sizes range from 5 - 10 MB in JPG format which can be read by a number of windows programs.

 Many of these maps may be hard to find even in university libraries, some are reprints of the originals by USGS and some may have been in poor condition when scanned because of their rarity.  Also some where not scanned in there entirety because they represented uncharted areas such as open ocean or Canada.  They range in date from the 1890's to the 1960's.
