ANTIQUE PERU HANDHAMMERED SILVER ANDEAN TUPU LLAMA PIN

This auction is for an antique andean, silver handmade tupu pin llama (highland animal) which was a transport animal since incas times and up to date, llama transport different stuffs of indigenous people.

That kind of Tupu was used since INCAS time by the women dressed kind of a tunic, of a single piece; on the shoulders and by way of layer the lliclla went (big mantel as blanket), subject to the neck for a tupu. And it was used by the feminine funeral bales holding the Illiclla. Has patina as you can see in the pictures and was made in the andean highlands of Peru . Some old andean peruvian women who lives in the highlands use the tupus in their typical costumes during their folkloric religious parties, each year, this kind of tupus are very difficult to find because up to date, the artisans don't make them because the new generations don't use them only inherit from their relatives.
