Up for auction, a antique maritime ships lantern.There is a small brass plate on the back that reads,
National Marine Lamp Co. Forestville, Conn.
This is a well made metal lantern, I checked it with a magnet and round part on top below the ring
is brass, the rest is magnetic, most likely galvanized steel.
It has a bracket on the back to fasten it into a corner, its 12 inch high and 7 inch wide.
It could easily be electrified.
There is no door or glass and the previous owner had a candle in it but only for looks.
It is painted dark red color and is in good conditon, no rust, with a few small dents.
