I used to collect old books and I need space so I am selling my foreign language ones.
By 1800s I mean the 19th century.
The title of this one sounds like "Characters of Childhood" or "The Nature of Children". There is no page before page 1, so I don't have the copyright information, author, etc.. You can only see the design on the spine. It had 106 numbered pages. Page 47/48 and 99/100 are missing. Page 101/102 is bound after page 106. So it's apparently a defective book. The whole book is warped. The half that's closest to you when you read it is thicker than the rest, as if it had gotten wet at some point. But not lately. There's no unusual smell.
It's measurements are about 3 7/16" x 5 1/4". The spine is about 1/2" thick. The opposite side is about 1 3/16" without squeezing it. The pages are about 3 1/4" x 5 1/16". This book is very worn. The corners of the cover and of the pages are all bent. The paper of the pages is very thin and soft. You can see through the pages to the other side.
There is writing in this book. My name and the date I got it are written in blue ink in the upper left corner inside the front cover, but it's very hard to read. The psychedelic design inside the covers is in a blue/green color. As you can see in the 4th picture, someone (in pencil) wrote "50" and what looks like a small cursive "f" and a dash in the upper right corner of page 1. On the page next to page 66 (picture 9), you can see someone's written in ink the numbers that look like "1860 1861 1862 1863". These are brown. Someone also wrote 5 words and did some scribbling inside the last two blank pages, in brown ink. And all these pages have yellowed and are fragile. This little book weighs about 4 ounces.
American postage is included for this item to any one of the first 48 states. (Someone apparently made a mistake in the "Shipping and handling charges" section in the "Detailed Seller Ratings" as I only charge what U.P.S. or the post office charge me, and only when I sell something big or heavy like car seats or wheels. And the last time I did was long before E.B.A.Y. started compiling information for that area). It will be mailed the first day our post office is open after I receive a U.S.P.S. money order for the proper amount, if not the same day. A U.S.P.S. money order is a money order which you must buy at a United States post office. They're currently $1.05 in my area. Thanks for your time.
P.S. I ordered "Picture Pack" for this so you could enlarge the pictures and so I'd get a discount, buy it didn't happen. I think they're working on it.
